Free Klezmer and Jewish Folk Music MP3 Downloads

A M'Chayeh are a Dutch Klezmer band who have been playing together since 1998 and play a large range of traditional pieces using Violin, Accordion, Clarinet and Double Bass.

Their website has 7 free downloadable MP3's of tunes played by the band. They've also included sheet music for around 30 pieces from Klezmer, Yiddish and Shepardic traditions.

Azad are a 7 piece band featuringa mix of traditional folk instruments such Violin, Clarinet and Accordion, but also have several percussionists to liven things up.

Unfortunately, this website is only available in French, but it's easy enough to navigate through to their MP3's.

Klezmerica (an American Klezmer band) have made a selection of MP3's from their various albums available for free download.

There's a mixture of original and traditional Klezmer pieces and even a bonus track History Of The Melodica - which is an amusing verbal history of the Melodica scattered with Melodica playing (including a composition Mozart supposedly wrote at 11 months of age).

The Red Hot Chachkas put out their CD "Family Album" featuring some very well known Klezmer tunes including Kolomeike, A Nakht in Gan Eydn and Araber Tantz.

They've put the entire on the web for you to download and listen to (except for Sarah's Bulgar which seems to be a broken link - all the rest work though).

Although they don't offer full-length MP3 tracks, it's worth checking out the Amsterdam Klezmer Band as their music can only be described as Balkan Klezmer - it's got the Serbian Brass Band sound mixed with Klezmer tunes - crazy stuff!!!

This traditional Klezmer band from St. Louis plays regularly at Brandt's Cafe , Jewish Theatre shows and more.
